Title: Frozen Base Gravys
Post by: uclown2002 on November 13, 2012, 10:28 PM
Is it ok to reheat from frozen in a saucepan without defrosting in a fridge overnight?

Sometimes I forget to take it out the freezer the day before!

I would recommend adding a little water and oil first, just to avoid the risk of burning the pan.

Thanks guys; no need to reblend then?

When I used to freeze my bases (I no longer do : just keep them in the 'fridge at 4oC), I never used to re-blend.

It's what i always do.
Low heat and the occasional stir until it's thoroughly heated and ready to cook with.

I don't think this is re-blending.
