Title: Prawn Curry
Post by: Bigwings on August 30, 2012, 08:17 PM
Hi folks

I'm planning to make a curry this weekend. She who must be obeyed has declared that a prawn curry would be good. I'm looking for something middle of the road, i.e. not to hot but not to mild.

I have a goodly supply of CA's curry base so I'm hoping that this will be suitable for a prawn curry, if not perhaps someone could point me in the right direction. Also a recipe for my middle of the road prawn curry would be helpful, I've found a couple of recipes on this board but I'm unsure which one to go for, one of the perils of being new to curry cookery I suppose.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

Hi Bigwings you could use CA's Bhoona recipe here http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4854.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4854.0)

You could use any mild/medium curry recipe really and just add the prawns instead of the chicken/meat/vegetables, don't add the prawns to early, add towards the end of cooking. Don't overcook the prawns.

If that's not what you are looking for you could try this http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=5148.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=5148.0)
and just add prawns.
Hope this helps a little.
