Hi all, I have spent the last 20 years eating curries from all around the UK and making pretty rubbish ones at home!
decided to finally research it properly, learn about base sauces etc and found my way here! I have made Darth's base and madras. It was fantastic! I managed to turn an otherwise clean kitchen into a turmeric stained bomb site, but it was worth it!
Looking forward to trying a few more and then experimenting myself.

Welcome aboard Simon. You've passed the initiation test then ;) ;D. The more you keep at it, the less mess you make :D

"Pants" ? "PANTS" ??? You cook curries in your underwear ?????! Or perhaps you meant "trousers" :)
I generally cook in the nud, but with chilli it's not a good idea ;)
Here in t'colonies "Pants" is the name for trousers - the latter term hardly ever heard colloquially nowadays. Underwear is more usually referred to as "jocks" "undies" or "knickers" .
Pants! You must be from the posh part BB. They're called strides or dacks round ere! :D
In Liverpool pants is ok for trousers. Underpants are called undies or underpants and pants are trousers.
