Post by: Edwin Catflap on July 16, 2012, 03:34 PM
Hi Guys

Anyone tried these Bhatoora breads before, seen them in the Curry Secret - Khris Dillons book and they look mighty fine.

Also like the idea of these, Masala Kulcha.

They look great Eddie ... why not give them a go and report back ... I too saw the Bhatooras and wondered how they would be  ;) :)

Bhurtas - I have made these many a time - same recipe as chapatis - flour, water, salt, though bhurtas usually are made with plain flour instead of Ata flour. Deep fried, they puff up nicely as your photo shows and are rather tasty.

Kulcha - I view these as pimped up naans - the ones I have made before have been onion kulchas - stuffed with onions that have slowly been pre-fried to the point of being very caramelised and again they are very nice.
