Title: LONDON OLYMPICS 2012 :)
Post by: 976bar on June 22, 2012, 05:00 PM
I've just collected my, "Crews Pass" for cooking Indian Cuisine at the Olympic Rowing Village, Egham, Surrey, July through September 2012 :)

Had an interview with Aramark a couple of months ago and they have taken me on for the Olympics as, "Comis Chef" cooking Indian Cuisine for the rowing athletes.

I just want to thank everyone in this forum for everything they have contributed over the years which has allowed me to develop my Indian cooking skills in order to win a position like this. What an experience this going to be :)

A big thank you to everyone :)

Congratulations Bob.  That should be an experience.  I'm sure you'll keep us up to date on any learnings you pick up along the way.

Congratulations! I'm not sure if wind assistance is allowed for the rowers, but after a few Madras or Garlic Chilli Chicken curries, thery won't have much choice in the matter! Good luck! :)

Bob, I hope you enjoy it.
I am sure you will have lots to talk about with your new
made friends, over a pint or two that is  :)

It may blow hot and cold at time but stick with it
and enjoy it  :)

Well done and good luck
Graeme.

Very well done indeed.  :)

What did the interview consist of - did you have cook a specific dish? Also, is it a part-time role - how will you manage to find the time alongside your other job (I'm assuming you're working full time somewhere)?

I took along a Chicken Pasanda & Garlic Chili Chicken Masala for them to try, it didn't last long lol.

I am taking time out from my normal role (I'm self employed anyway) for the duration I'm needed.

Congratulations Bob, are you a volunteer for the common good.

A great opportunity to hone your skills in a commercial kitchen and
interesting to hear how you scale up your home cooking up to catering levels.

Good luck, cheers Chewy.
