Holy cow  :o - 1 x table spoon of cinnamon powder - are you sure?

Sam, what British Indian Restaurant dish have you based your recipe on?

Do you like BIR curry? - this being a forum mostly dedicated to BIR curry - please tell us what BIR restaurants near you that you like to go to?

Thanks

Hi Sam,
I think what this forum would appreciate more than your curry videos is if you could share some recipes that are close to your heart and your heritage.
 i.e. Italian and Turkish.

I Dont mean from a book or the internet, but family recipes handed down from your mother, father, grandparents.
These types of recipes would be very welcome.

Thanks Frank  :)

Sammy - firstly I do not want to be rude in anyway -

what a horrible recipe however the taste buds of everyone are NOT the same thank goodness.
I tbs of cinnamon in just a curry sauce would be over powering to any normal taste buds - even if they had been subjected to a Phall every week!!

I think this curry sauce you are making really needs adjusting to a half a teaspoon of cinnamon at the most
1 tsp of turmeric etc all the tablespoons are not really needed to achieve a good curry sauce like you are making
The onions would benefit from being saut

Just to be fair and give Sam the benefit of the doubt, has anyone tried any of these recipes? How are you so sure it's a 'horrible' recipe? I don't like eggs in a curry, or I might try the recipe. I do like quite a bit of Cinnamon on top of a milky coffee and in apple pie, so I wouldn't be sure that 1 tbls is too much.

On the other hand, any claims for health benefits make me laugh, especially when used to pad out a book. I'm interested in recipes which taste good and are not too unhealthy, e.g. due to the use of vegetable ghee.
