Does anyone have experience in using a vacuum Marinator, such as this:

The description on the amazon site is next to useless, making the dubious claim that a vacuum can open "pores" in the meat... But the comments section seems to imply some people are getting good results. I'm wondering if it's worth considering for tikka. The good thing potentially is you could put several batches of chicken through the same tikka marinade, because of the process only takes 15 mins there's no need to worry about food poisoning from reusing marinade. Also It's not clear if the claim of tenderising meat arises from the vacuum action, or merely as a by product of marinating. Ie whether this. Ie whether this might help tenderise lamb tikka?
Just wondering if there's anything in it?

Never heard of them NJ. Just had a look on youtube and i can see a vacuum/tumbler doing the job well, but doubt it very much with only the vacuum. Unless you marinate for a long time..which defeats the purpose. ;)

Thanks DP. He likes his chips well done, eh?! Guess there may be something in the concept and the rotating drum arrangement looks like it would help also.

I've picked up one of these "9 minute marinators" from eBay - works well. I've put 4kg of chicken tikka through (1kg at a time) and the results seem very good. I can't tell the difference to tikka marinaded in the fridge for 24 hrs.
