Title: Lidl Hand Blender set

Firstly, no I don't work for them, but I do have a Lidl store right across the road from my house.. ;)

These were from last week but mine still had loads in, and I thought for ?14.99 it was a pretty good price, especially as they are rated at 600w (that's pretty good isn't it?)

I wasn't going to get one, buy todays papers (well the Express definitely has) have a Spend ?30 get ?5 off voucher (valid till Monday).
So as I had to get some shopping in I thought that made it even more of a bargain.

If it's the silverlight stuff, everything I've bought has worked fine. I think I probably have the same blender (link doesn't work!) it's been working fine for months.

SilverCREST yes, I've had no problems with their stuff either. ;)

Link works for me ok (on Opera), but when I tried the address on IE it didn't, it went to a sign in page.
So I put it in again, and got a Postcode page, which gave me an ignore/continue arrow, which then took me to the blender page.
Now it always goes straight to the correct page. :-\

I have the very same blender bought about a year ago - still working well and I use it to blend base in the jug provided - works a treat!

Hi Martin
Bought one on Monday to replace the same machine I smashed last week :-\

which I had for 5 years with no problems at all, until I dropped it and cracked the housing.  :'(

I also bought the Rice cooker, which I didn't need, but it had a steamer part to it, which got me interested.

Tried and tested both machines and they are excellent well made kit. VFM as they say.

cheers Chewy
Wish I bought newspapers, could have saved myself a fiver... ::)

I agree. The Lidl stores and 99% of what they sell are great. I've bought loads of silvercrest products and rate them highly.

But I hate the Lidl website. It always demands the input of a wretched postcode for branch selection. Their website is a total waste of time.

I have to agree George, the web site is rubbish. I was trying to find a search option to check out the rice cooker but gave up in the end.

That blender looks pretty good. I wish I never got my wife to buy me the 225 quid Waring professional blender for my 50th birthday. It won't burn out in a hurry but the blades are simply not as sharp as the cheaper ones, so I often finish off a blend with my 400 watt handheld. :-\

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks guys

My first hand blender (used a food processor and a liquidiser till now), so wasn't sure if it really was VFM, even if it only sort of cost me a tenner in the end.

As for the Lidl website, I think you have to bare in mind it only ever has that weeks main offers/promotions and a few future ones.
So you won't find past offers (like this and the rice cooker) without finding them through google etc. (cached?).

Maybe that was the problem with my link, I'm always signed in on their site, to see what's coming up, so that's probably why it worked ok for me.

Martin

Edit - heres the Rice cooker if link works - http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_30327.htm (http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_30327.htm)
Still had some in, in mine.

I saw the other day Lidl also have a mini chopper for ten pounds.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=mini+chopper+lidl (https://www.google.co.uk/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=mini+chopper+lidl)

I've added the google link. Its easier to navigate. Just click the top link.

Here is a video demo. . . . .in French though  :P

I've got the silverCREST ;) mini chopper and it's been brilliant. For 10 quid you can't really ask for more.

Used the hand blender, for the first time, today on a big pot of base (about 10 litres).

It was great, done the job easily.
What surprised me most, was it seemed to have so much power that the suction(?) it creates makes it virtually stick to the bottom of the pan. :o

Didn't even get that warm, even though I had it going 3 times for at least 3 mins constant (they say 60 secs), with only short rests in between (while I added more water to the base).

I know this post is a month or so old but I popped into my local Lidl to see if there were any left, sadly not. Does anyone know, do Lidl's tend to repeat these offers or are they normally a one off?

Not being a scrooge but that price seems to good to miss out on.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

I bought mine about a year ago so they may well repeat offers.
