Title: Curry2GO Ebook Video Links NOT WORKING HELP!
Post by: ramsdedm02 on April 06, 2012, 03:12 PM
I bought Jullians Ebook couple of days ago which loads onto my computer but when I click on the video links they don't work. I've tried 3 different browsers, copying and pasting them and typing manually and still it says page not found. I've searched on google about the problem and tried some solution but it still won't work.

I sent Jullian an email as he told me to in a different message but haven't had a reply.

Anyone else had this problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Are the links taking you to a YouTube page which says video not found (which might suggest Julian's link was at fault) or is the error message some other windows or browser error message (which might point more towards a config problem local to the pc)?  If you can be more specific about the error message you're seeing I'm sure people can help.

Julian mentioned he had anti-piracy measures in place which might include having different links in each copy of the book (to allow him to trace the origin of e-book copies which are shared around). It's conceivable there's an error with the links in your copy of the e-book.

No problem with my copy, ramsdedm02, but it may be something to do with the version of Adobe Reader you're using? (Mine is version 9.)

I've just had a search for the problem on the net, and it appears there are other people out there who are having problems opening links in the latest version of Adobe Reader.

Might be worth uninstalling your current version and downloading an earlier one.

Here's a link to download Adobe Reader 9:

Hi It's Julian

Sorry if I missed your email have been inundated with email these past few days.

If you computer does not take you to the Youtube site, it is almost certainly a 'pop up' blocker on your computer.
I recommend downloading the latest version of Adobe reader this will cure the problem. One other thing to check is your firewall, make sure it is allowing you to view external links.  Out of the many copies I have sold, only had one other who had your problem and it was his 'pop up' blocker.

Hope that helps

Julian

Any help is appreciated.

I don't have a pop up blocker on my pc and I've made sure my firewall accepts the external links.

Still unable to view.

Defo sounds like the browser Adobe Reader plugin to me. Just upgrade to the latest version or re-install Adobe Reader.
