Hi Chris
Welcome to cr0

You should give more info on your green masala dish.

Like has it a description on the menu?
What does it taste like?
Is your local "Indian" a Take Away or Restaurant. etc...

As it is, your question is just too vague, i.e. it could be anything.

cheers Chewytikka ;)

Agree, my question was a bit vague but didn't realise this dish is not so widely known.

Next time I order it I will try and see if I can find out more and maybe even see if they will let me see it been cooked.  The only info I can get on it at moment is "cooked with tomato, green pepper, green chili and coriander" which I suppose does at least tell what ingredients are required but not any of the spices or quantities.

Its quite a rich dish and very saucy with a kick about Madras strength.  It usually comes with whole green chillies in it which obviously can be left if too hot.

Cheers
Chris
