Title: IndianCurryChef - come out wherever you are
Post by: curryhell on February 29, 2012, 05:57 PM
Maybe the individual above will make themselves know :D  It does show this forum in a very good light with many fantastic pictures of what can be achieved at home.  I'm sure any curry lover would be salivating over the surperb looking dishes which is complimented by sides and the gravy prep itself.  Have a look, i'm sure you'll recognise one of your dishes, your kitchen, tandoor...................  Nice one, whoever done it ;D

The dishes really do look superb, a real credit to the efforts of all members write, cook, photograph and then post on the site.  Agree with all your comments :D.  Looks like pics from a bloody restaurant.  I recognise my kitchen and a few of my dishes :o.  And of course UB's tandoor and jb's xmas presie ;D.  Whoever done it, brilliant job and i'm sure will result in more curry addicts joining the existing curry nuts ;D

WOW  :o  ;D

What a superb video slide show.

Recognise so many pictures including a few of my own, some of Razors, CA, Ramerez's tikka masalas just to mention a few - excellent work!

Does make you realise just how tremendously well we are actually doing at producing BIR dishes as a whole these days :)

Oi ELW, i'll have you know that's no ashtray mate >:(.  That serving dish is classic and has probably been served up more times than you and i have cooked curries  ;D.  It's a little bit of history for me since it hails from the restaurant where my journey started some 25 years ago, he says with a tear in his eye :'(. It's as classic as the flock wallpaper and the music accompanying the video ;D.  Happy days ::)

That's the trouble nowadays.  They are all modern, clean, sharp lines, contemporary, souless, clinical and totally lack the character and atmosphere they had years ago.  The atmosphere then just added to the enjoyment of the food.  After all, what's wrong with flock wallpaper and food served in "ashtrays" so long as it's good food? :'( You've started me off now ELW >:( ;D
I did the Ashoka in Glasgow, the Polo club, one restaurant just round the corner from Mr Singh's which had a downstairs, the name of which escapes me and the shenaz just round the corner from the bon accord

Hi CurryHell, what a masterpiece!  ;D

I recognise my spice (old marmite) jars!

Also four pics of my base gravy!

Now I feel so hungry after all enjoying looking at all the fantastic dishes! But it's too late to cook now, curry for breakfast?! Maybe  8)

I find this forum bl**dy brilliant at helping to inspire me in my ultimate quest of a perfect BIR curry!

All the best  ;D

Guilty your honour  :P

I felt the site could do with some extra promotion. Also, i was getting tired of the other forums videos etc always coming top in everything i searched when on a curry browsing mission.  >:(
Its only a basic video using windows movie maker but the photos say it all.
I did hesitate before uploading and wonder if anyone would be angry having their photos out there on youtube.
I asked myself,
Do i ask first if its ok with everyone?
What if people dont like the idea and then i've wasted my time?
Maybe Stew doesnt want to be bombarded with lots of new members?

In the end, i thought F*** it. I'll do it anyway and see what happens. :P

I hope you're all ok with it. If not, i can take it down no prob.

Cheers, Frank.  :)

My apologies Mick.
I tried and had hoped to avoid using any copyrighted photos.
Or anything associated with profit making outside of cr0.

Going through 100's of photos coupled with using windows movie maker isn't much fun after many hours. In particular editing!
There is one pic with a blue background that looks photoshopped. I tried to replace that a few times but everytime i did, the music was all over the place. So it was left in.

There was a point when i reached UB's post on naans where he'd used your photos.
The upside down naan trick would've been a nice one to include but i thought better of using your pics.
It was a long old process and perhaps tiredness got the better of me.
Obviously something slipped through.

Just give me the nod and i'll delete the video.  ;)

Frank.

No real bother Frank,
As I have mentioned to another CR0 member...I have posted pictures and videos for all to see, that is my choice but seeking permission for them to be used elsewhere may have been better.
Having said that, it is a good production and well done to you for it.
I am certainly not going to ask you to remove the video.
I did however see the irony in using pictures from a member of 'the other site' to, as you say "Also, i was getting tired of the other forums videos etc always coming top in everything i searched when on a curry browsing mission.  >:("
At the end of the day, I am not one to perpetuate any further arguments between members of either forum.
Cheers for now,
Mick

I wasn't actually referring to you Mick when i made that statement. Or your website or videos.(although you may have made the rcr promo vids, i dont know)
I was however referring to the rcr promotional videos and google searches where they always come top.
I just wanted to give cr0 a bit of a leg-up.

As long as youre cool with it, i'll leave the vid as is.

Cheers, Frank.  ;)

P.S. I haven't a clue whose photo is whose or which are yours.

It's all good Frank.

I've also tried to promote cr0 where possible. I host my photos of dishes (e.g. for the group tests) on Flickr and always mention cr0 and the author in the comments, to try and get a few more people onto the site.
