Title: Onion Bhajis
Post by: loveitspicy on September 13, 2011, 07:19 AM
Guys i make onion bhajis i guess the same as most on this forum -  however im trying to make them more round and bread like in the middle - with not much success!!

I have had them years ago in a restaurant / take away  and they were slightly heavy round and were more like a breaded type filling with onion in - it would have been the besan flour but what created the soft bread like texture?

Has anyone had similar and do you have a recipe?

best, Rich

Hi Rich,

I do know what you mean and I have had bhajis like this in the past.  To be honest, I've always assumed them to be 'under done'.

Why not give this one a try of chriswg's http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=5057.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=5057.0) If done right, I think it's the tastiest bhaji I've had in a very long time.

I can only think that by adding more gram flour, would make the bhaji quite stodgey?

Sorry to be of little help mate!

Ray :)
