Title: Geordie Curry Competition
Post by: chewytikka on July 17, 2011, 10:18 PM
Thought this might interest you guys, some of the Chef's I know
battle it out, in the Council run Curry Chef Competition 2011.

The funny thing was, they all can easily feed a 100 people on a busy night
yet creating one 3 course meal from scratch in competition, the pressure was really on!

(All flapping like a tanner comic) good old geordie expression. ;D

cheers Chewy

I clean forgot about this, was a really good laugh that day.
The video was captured by someone from the college, with a tiny camcorder.
I'll be going to the regional final with Kohinoor next month, should be fun. ;D

very good :-) does anyone know where i can get
the white small sauce cup/pot at 4:46 sitting in the
centre of the clip. I have had it served with mint sauce for starters
and its a great idea, easy to pour instead of using spoons etc.

I have been after one for ages but could not find it anywhere
any suggestions welcome :-)

Ha Ha just seen the closing credits ;D

Haven't been able to find an identical one (well, I've been looking for only five minutes !) but one of these (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Dk-Brown-ENAMEL-milk-warming-jug-pans-long-handles-/150664115053?pt=UK_Collectables_Kitchenalia_RL&hash=item231447f36d) might do the job ...
Or for just a few pence more (well, about

Ah, interesting : you used Google Images, I used "Classic Google". I have always regarded myself as graphically illiterate, being unable to make head nor tail of any set of instructions (including so-called "accessible" aircraft safety instructions) that are expressed in pictures rather than words, so on seeing the image of the thing that you were seeking, my approach was to convert said image into a word or phrase, emphasising the key features.  To me, it was a <keywords>long-handled, pouring, china, white, ...</> and a few searches using those keywords led me to believe that I might have greater success if I included a noun such as "ladle", "jug" or (eventually) "gravy boat".  And those terms did indeed represent pay dirt, because first one, then two, then three, then many such items turned up (I reported only the first four).  So, being graphically challenged may mean that I really shouldn't claim the exit aisle on an aircraft (which I will nonetheless continue to do, having legs that don't fit behind a reclined economy-class seat), but on the other hand it can lead to fairly fast and rewarding "Classic Google" searches  :)

Hi Greame
I have the actual pan.
It came from Crosbys over in shieldfield.
www.crosbys.co.uk (http://www.crosbys.co.uk) - They are basically trade, but the last time I was there, they seemed to be setting up a bit retail.
made by http://www.churchillchina.com/cuisineproductdetails.asp?productId=97 (http://www.churchillchina.com/cuisineproductdetails.asp?productId=97)

Ah, "Menu presentation pan" : that is what they are called.  2660 hits for that phrase, within the UK alone  :)
