Hi Derek,

They did look a little different and interesting and I remember at the time asking the author to produce some pictures of the final product, but never heard anything more. So given all the info on here, I tend to go with people who have tried and tested recipes and have pictures to show for their efforts.

It's easy to post recipes and ideas, but a picture paints a thousand words......

Aussie curry is very much "authentic" Indian food. It's not what we'd call BIR...

As I recall JB paid for some lessons from a chef and it was Mark who did a similar thing in Australia. The JB recipes seemed very similar to a lot of the recipes on here - base, spice mix, main dishes. The Aus recipes had three different base/pastes and for that reason were a little unusual. I didn't get round to trying them as I was in my Bruce Edwards phase and am now in my Taz phase. I don't know what has happened to both members - maybe they have achieved their aims and are cooking away happily?

Still here guys, haven't cooked anything for a while mind...planning another curry feast very soon hopefully will post some pics when I do.Still spending far too much on takeaways than I should....wife says I spend more time actually analysing the dish trying to spot what's in it rather than enjoying it!! I do lurk on the forum quite a bit still hoping someone will come up with that magical secret ingredient(if there is one I suppose).Looking back on my lessons I thoroughly enjoyed them and I learned a hell of a lot.All I would say is that most of what I was taught confirmed that the techniques/recipes on this forum are spot on,indeed the tikka massala I had last night had EXACTLY the same flavour and consistency as my version.
