Title: Le Creuset
Post by: ootini on April 04, 2011, 09:25 PM
Ok this might sound really stupid, but does anyone here use Le Creuset or similar cast iron pots and pans?

Just curious.

We had one (probably bought with Nectar points) but gave it away : it weighed a ton and didn't really achieve a great deal.  But we still have another French cast iron pot, this one a Chasseur casserole; also weighs a ton but with the two handles is much easier to left/carry. The Le Creuset we gave away was a sort of square frying pan with ridges.

I have a few, only use the casserole pot for curries though. Perfect size for base cooking.

Figured as much, I've got a full set of 5 pans, 2 casseroles and a large frying pan. I can see the casseroles and larger pans being good for the base sauce but couldn't see anyone using a 4kg frying pan!
