Post by: hcoool on December 14, 2010, 05:35 PM
Hi I'm looking for a veg curry recipe but having no luck.

I can make from scratch but I have got some of CA's base as well so whatever.

ASAP please as I'm hungry.
Ta,

Hi Hcoool,

Any particular type of curry mate?

Ray :)

I think most BIRs these days would just make a standard curry but substitute pre-cooked mixed veg instead of the pre-cooked meat.

So you could have vegetable madras, vegetable korma (sounds horrible!) etc using this method.

Cheers,

Paul

Like PaulP says, the obvious option would be to make your fav BIR sauce and add some pre-cooked veg, you can really choose what ever you like best. I agree that veg korma is not the most mouthwatering, but I would imagine if you choose veg carefully a korma could be an option, e.g. cauliflower?

What I have made in the past is non-meat curries using pulses such as 2/3 varieties of lentils and/or things like red kidney beans - can be a bit more substantial than veg alone?

i have been searching and trying to find a perfect veg curry for years. my conclusion is that yogurt and cream is an essential ingredient.  search online for a good balti sauce recipe with some yogurt and cream in it, i will try to post the one i use if i can find it.

Cheers for the replies, I had a stir fry in the end last night but might do the curry tonight instead.
