I wanted to try mustard oil out, searching the net for suppliers I found one who also had recipes and Mr Huda pastes, to make the order up for free postage I tried his pastes..................WOW the taste is incredible!
I did this:

except for using half mustard oil ( heated to smoking beforehand as seems to be the rule ). I was really impressed with the results, the tikka on it's own was as authentic as it gets.
You've got to try this........

Hi
It is interesting to hear your feedback on the Mr Hudas stuff. Did you manage to take any pictures of the results?
I have tried the mint sauce (http://www.spicesofindia.co.uk/acatalog/Mint-Sauce-Recipe.html (http://www.spicesofindia.co.uk/acatalog/Mint-Sauce-Recipe.html)) that they do, and that is lovely. I can recommend that.
Some will consider it cheating, but for those occasions (mostly all the time with young kids) when you are too busy to cook all the stuff from scratch having an arsenal of good pastes that give decent results is a very handy thing to have.

I used to use Mr Hudas tikka marinade and it does taste pretty good but I won't be buying it any more because:
1 It's quite expensive
2 It only keeps for 6 weeks after opening
3 I got bored with the taste as the tikka always tasted the same
I now use Jb's recipe with the 3 Pataks paste combo.
Cheers,
Paul
