Hi curry fans, just checkin out this great site, i love BIR grub, vindi, balti and jalfrezie are my favs.

first question:
what is the best base gravy recipe on here as there seems to be a few interesting ones, i use the melting base with quite good results but still cant get that proper strong BIR flavour, is it still a secret? or maybe im not cookin it right.

Hi Fishy

Welcome to the site, you will not be disapointed on the recipes posted on here, as some of them are the real deal.
Just go through the sections and have a good read first on the recipes and the debates of the members, you will find really good base recipes to get you started, then its onto the main dish.

wow Fishy you are going to have some interesting reading on this site. There's loads of base recipes here, some people swear by one or the other and some people think they are much of a muchness.

There's no hidden secret, simply the right ingredients, the right recipes and the right technique. The first you will get from your butcher, grocer and Asian store, the second and third is contained within the pages of this forum.
