We are British and live in North Germany where there are 2 Indian restuarants that I know of which are located quite a way away and not possible to visit on a regular basis. I have really missed a good curry. After 4 years of not eating one I am now determined to start cooking my own. It is not easy to find all the ingredients where we live, fresh or otherwise, so I need to start looking at online shops etc. This website looks fantastic and I wish I had found it earlier! Magsi

Hi Magsi und willkommen to cr0 ;D
I worked in Germany back in the early 90's and couldn't find an Indian restaurant for the life of me. Lot's of turkish places about and a few chinese.
Hope you have fun exploring the forum.

How nice to get a response so quickly from other members! Razor, there are also plenty of Greek and Jugoslavian restaurants here too. Thing is you can't beat a good curry can you? Vindaloo-crazy, sauerkraut vindaloo - never thought of that! Could be the next recipe to win German's Best Dish! ;) Magsi

Hi Magsi,
Yes, I remember plenty of Greek places too, I think they called them 'imbasses' or something like that.
So, how long has it been since you were last in Blighty then? and where are you from originally?

I was back in Blighty in January this year to visit my friend near Leamington Spa. Try to get back to the UK at least once a year. Originally from Nottingham and spent some time in Germany as a teenager (Mother Danish), lived in Manchester and then the Isle of Man. Now back in Germany and have been her for nearly 4 years. Live very close to the Danish border. Love it and the lifestyle although I miss UK and the Brits - you just can't beat the Brits and their humour! Magsi
