Hi all,
I’m visited Maidstone in the next few days and want to browse the local Indian grocers - does anyone know where the likely spots worth visiting might be?
On my list…
Mr Naga,
Laziza tikka Botti paste
Panch phoran whole spice mix
Is there an obvious shop which might have these? Thanks all….

Panch phoran and Mr. Naga shouldn't be too difficult to find at most Bangladeshi run shops. I have only got the Laziza pastes from Pakistani outlets in the past. Most have only the small jars, but the 1 kg size is sometimes available from bigger supermarkets. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I bought my last botti paste online (expensive). If you see the Mr. Naga (Gold) be aware it's absolutely brutal.

Thanks Bob! I did manage to score myself Mr Naga (thanks for the warning about the Gold version) and panch phoran.
Still on the lookout for laziza tikka botti paste, which seems to be unobtainium these days. Maybe I have to venture over to Chatham or Rochester, which seem to have some good shops according to google maps.

I would recommend Ashford in preference to either of those — an excellent Nepali community, well-served by equally good Nepali shops.

Good luck on your hunt for the Laziza paste NJ. It will turn up somewhere. Great to have you posting here again.

I will be visiting the taj stores on brick lane this coming Tuesday. I will see if they stock it.
