I was mooching through an American based food website where it appears every contributor uses sous vide in their food preparation.
I saw a documentary on tv some time back where a UK pub chain cooked their dishes centrally sous vide style before distribution for finishing off on the individual sites/pubs/restaurants.
Does anyone here regularly use sous vide for food preparation at home and if they do, is it really worth all the cost and bother?

Not I, but I increasingly find that many, if not most, of the "traditional Christmas lunches/dinners" on offer now use sous vide turkey rather than roast ...

I wouldn’t say regularly but sous vide is great and not much effort really. Makes great pork chops, cooked to perfection. Should use it more often but like a lot of gadgets, I don’t make the effort enough. Except for my instant pot which gets used a ton.

I have a multi cooker that does sous vide among other options, including steaming (for the proper puddings)
I see SV as merely another tool in my culinary drawer.
