I have just joined and like a lot of you I have been trying to replicate Indian restaurant food at home. I've been at it for about 30 years and still not satisfied totally with my efforts. I have a few recipes that aren't my own but I think worth contributing. chat soon

Hiya Sash, and welcome to cr0.
There are some great recipes on here that really take you close to BIR (British Indian Restaurant) curries.
Anything you need, just ask!

Hi there, you may already have a few of these, but here is a traditional north Indian Tandoori marinade. 200 grams yoghurt,1 tablespoon each of ginger and garlic paste,1 tbsp of tandoori paste(commercial stuff is fine),1/2 tsp of red food colouring(optional),2 tsp ground cumin,2tsp ground coriander,1 tsp garam masala,1/2 tsp chilli powder,1/2 tsp tumericand 1 tsp of salt. Pre heat oven to as high as it goes bake chicken for 20 mins then reduce to 120 degrees until done.
dressing; 1 bunch of mint and coriander,2 tsp pomegranite seeds ground,1tsp salt,1tsp chilli powder,200 grams yoghurt,1 small onion, 1 tsp tumeric. blend them all together.
Oh and one more thing, i have seen a couple of home made Tandoors using a large clay garden pot with a slot 2 inch wide cut from top to bottom and a metal lid.Works very well. Cheers
