Title: Ceylon masala
Post by: Paul1980 on April 22, 2010, 03:01 PM
Has anyone ever bought or made this?
I have had a look through google and it seems to be a dark roasted curry powder/masala mad up of 6-10 different spice seeds.
This is one of my favourite curries but I can't find any where that sells it pre made.

Hi Paul,

You might be better searching for Sri Lanka rather than Ceylon as the island was renamed years ago.

e.g.

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi,

I am from Sri Lanka and these masala powders are really superb. We use it almost daily in our dishes. As far as I know, there are a lot of these masala being exported all over the world. You can try Sharra or Renuka Agri foods. Both are well known spice and condiment exporters.
And it doesn't matter if you try searching for Ceylon or Sri Lanka, we go by both names.
