Tescos have a range of ready meal curries under the brand Kitchen Express (produced by The indian Kitchen , Wembley). Nearest curries that produce the BIR smell and nicest taste for a ready meal- far better than supermarket own makes and other branded makes. If fact it beat some of our local takeaways.
.
Recommend the chicken jalfezi and the fish curry. Cost ?2.60 for main meal with veggie starters at ?1.80.
well worth digging out if you fancy a quick curry.

boiled rice takes 10-12 minutes and with a bit of a bit of pre-made base, precooked chicken and some spices you can knock up a curry in less time than it takes to heat a tv dinner in the oven and what's more the quality is incomparable!!

i can knock up a madras with pilau rice for about ?1 all in.
20p rice
10p corriander
10p base
50p chicken ( 3kg breast farmfoods for ?10, 19 average breasts)
10p spices

I noticed the range is described as "home-style" Indian cooking. It might not be very BIR at all.
As Jimmy2x pointed out it is still more expensive than doing it yourself - and not half as much fun!

Hi Jimmy. Please, where do you get that quantity of chicken at that price from?

OK you're coming home from work after a bad day, you have no base sauce and fancy a decent curry and want to put your feet up without any cooking or cleaning up.
Wait 1-2 hours whilst you cook a base sauce and make a curry -dont think so.

hi gezh
i get that chicken breat from farmfoods, total bargain, however was in there this week and the offer has stopped for the now, it now costs 13.50 ie 4.50 a 1kg pack, the pack has average 6 fairly big breasts. I find 1.5 breasts is plenty for a meal for 2.
even at this higher price its still very cheap, was in morrisons and they were charging near double that, though they did do a bogof offer for a bit.
When the offer comes around again in farmfoods maybe i buy 40 quids worth, damn we go through they breasts pretty fast in my house.

Hmm. I think it might negate the bargain, by the time I've got to my nearest Farmfoods store! Thanks, anyway.
