Hi DB,

For simple, but good bases, I suggest you consider:

1.  Bruce Edward's (as Jerry suggests) - this would be my top recommendation

2.  SnS's (here:  http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=2757.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=2757.0))

3.  Mick's/Taz's (here:  http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4163.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4163.0))

There are many more, of course, and I suggest that you also read the opinions and comments in this thread (here:  http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=2203.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=2203.0))

delhi belly,

keep us updated on how things go - others are likely to be just as interested from their own learning point of view.

don't forget on base the method of making makes a big difference in the result. i simmer all for 2 hrs before blending then 1 hr with added water after the blending (to get back to the volume at blending).
