Title: BBQ Sauce Marinade
Post by: 976bar on December 30, 2009, 09:55 AM
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garlic granules
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp salt
120ml tomato ketchup
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp soft brown sugar (more if you like it sweeter)
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sherry
60ml water

Mix everything together in a saucepan and cook on a low heat until the liquid has reduced to a thick runny sauce. Leave to cool then pour over ribs/chops/chicken etc and allow to marinade for at least 24 hours  :)

976bar,

looks a defo for a try - many thanks

their are quite a few ingredients i've not put together collectively before (my best effort had been onion, oil, garlic, tom sauce, Worcester sauce, brown sugar).

i'll try yours to spec initially in the new yr to start. then knowing what i know from currying i'll try and add in smokiness from the cooking.

currywurst may not be out of our collective reach.

Tried this marinade out yesterday on some chicken breast which I barbequed over charcoal. Very nice indeed! Thanks, 976bar!
