Hey :)
we're making the KD base very shortly (first curry base ever) and we were originally planning to make the CTM from the same book this evening, but looking through this site, it seems that the base is considered a good starting point but the recipes are poor?
Could anyone recommend a good recipe to go with the KD base (Preferably something like a CTM or Korma)
Will be sure to post photos later,
Thanks

Welcome to cr0 blanchy.
You might like to try these, which get good reviews from those that have:
CTM: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=539.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=539.0)
Korma: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=312.0 (http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=312.0)
Which KD base is it? The one from her first book or her second?
Either way, I'm sure the above recipes will work just fine with it.
Look forward to seeing your photos 8)

Thanks, just got the onion mix simmering now, it's the one from the first book. Think I'm going to go for the CTM one, but not until tomorrow now though

blanchy, I wouldn't give up entirely on the KD recipes. You just need to replace any occurence of garam masala in the recipes with an equal amount of a good curry powder, or probably even better as JerryM suggests, mix powder.

Blanchy, I bought the KD book just before I discovered this forum.
If I had stuck to the KD recipes I would have been disappointed to say the least.
If you do try the full KD recipes take Secret Santa's advice and replace the garam masalla with something else.
Let us know how you get on.
