Hi All,
I usually make base and freeze it and thaw it as I go.
On my last base (CA's base) I just left the remainder in the fridge. Since it wasn't a huge yield base, I figured I'd use it before it went off.
Its been sitting in the fridge since last Saturday, and I plan to make a curry tomorrow.
That's a total of 10 days in the fridge.
Should I chance it?
Thx,
Josh

Hi Josh,
prob do you no harm if your fridge is at 1 or 2 degrees C and is covered but week and a half i think i would bin it.
UB.

for me it's borderline at 10 days. i've used base at 14 days without problem but ea base varies depending on what's in it.
give it a stir and then smell it - u'll know if it's not OK.

I'd ditch it and start again.
I've searched to find out how long vegetable soup can be stored in the fridge. Nowhere recommends storing it for more than 5 days. Most say 2-3 days and 4 days at a push.
Your shout Josh! :P

Bin it, definitely. Make yourself a nice fresh batch today. There are few things worse than throwing up a hot curry, especially when its caused by food poisoning meaning every last ml of stomach acid needs to come up!
Think of it as an opportunity to try out a new base, or to play around with a few different ingredients or quantities.

Haha. Thanks guys.
I binned it :(

I agree with Corry; I used base a couple of times after 6 days: lets just say things were a bit 'soft' in the bathroom the day after!! I don't think you'll poison yourself, but it may be past its best after that long.
Base actually improves with keeping up to day 3, IMO.
