Title: hi and a quick question.
Post by: scudybeef on August 29, 2009, 02:33 PM
hi all, lookin forward to my first decent curry,
without buying jars of ready made paste.

1st question would have to be:

What does "BIR" stand for?
seen it all over the site, and while i've managed
to come up with many thoughts,i cant pick one
that sounds right.
pls put me out of my misery.

P.S...my thoughts tell me...British Indian Restaraunt

Hi,

BIR is British Indian Restaurant. Used to describe the type of food you get from BIRs or takeaways in the UK. Not to be confused with genuine Indian recipes.
