Post by: Mojo1971 on February 21, 2009, 12:29 PM
I made a cumin scented chicken curry last night (for tonight) and my other half said it was bland and wasnt very hot. Im veggie so wont try it. What can I do to make it hotter?

Add chilli powder ... or for an extra boost add extra hot chilli powder ...
or add finely chopped green or red chiles

Make the sauce before you add the pre cooked chicken (just simmer it for around 5 minutes and check it's cooked). This way you can taste the sauce without consuming meat, and judge what needs to be added. If it's bland and not hot enough, I would suggest adding salt and chili powder and/or finely chopped fresh chilies.

Good luck,

BB.

Make your own chilli powder by grinding dried red chillies (preferably Birds Eye). You can get these from most super markets.
