I Can?t find this anywhere?????
I know green ginger is young / baby ginger.
There are recipes on here like DARTHPHALL?s curry base that use green ginger but I cannot find where to buy it.
Is there a substitute, I know normal root ginger is more pungent so when I made DARTHPHALL?s curry base I just used a smaller amount.
I can find Galangal which I know in the ginger family, would this do?
I have already tried to find Green Ginger everywhere but not found any, none of the big supermarkets stock this or even any of my local green grosser. Unfortunately I do not live anywhere near an Asian supermarket. I have even tried to find this product online without success.
Please help.

John,
i've not made Darth's base.
i can't believe i will make a significant difference. the amount of ginger in a base is always very low and the aim is to keep everything in balance.
i'd just stick to the normal root ginger. i've tried leaving it out a few times (using more at cooking stage) and could not tell any difference in the base or the final dish.
