Hello all,
I am looking for a curry base that is quite easy to make and can be used in most curries. Also can you let me know the best way to store it and how long it will last.

There are a number of great curry bases here, go to curry bases and just choose one,most : bases will make maybe 8 currys.
You can store your base in the fridge or freeze it.But what i normally do is cook the base on a certain day make a curry or two,then after 1-3days use the rest.
I also find that after a couple of days it always seems to taste alot better.

Welcome to the forum, as kid curry has said any base will do they are all very similar but for starting out I would recommend the Bruce Edwards:

I tend to make batch of sauce and leave enough in the fridge that will be used up within a week then freeze the rest in curry sized amounts.

the freezer changes the taste of the base (seems to dilute it) i've not cooked with it though after freezing (only had ice cubes to do the comparison).
i keep mine in the fridge for upto 2 wks but it rarely lasts more than about 8 days. u can get small batch sizes to work as well (say 1.6L c/w with typ 4.0L finished base) - not for your 1st go though - happy currying.
the saffron and rajver bases are good and ones to be put on your list but the list of good ones is quite long and getting longer. have a good read around the posts before making to get a good feel for what others have experienced in making the base ie don't go straight off page 1 of the post.
