Hi guys! First post , so here goes. I am wanting to try a very basic recipe for a nice hot curry. Me and the missus both enjoy a take-away ( hopefully a thing of the past soon! ) and as this will be my first go at making a chicken/prawn curry, i was just wondering if anyone had a very simple recipe for a first timer. i dont have much in the way of ingredients yet, but will stock up soon.
Thanks for any help and advice ;)

Welcome to cr0 Jakey :)
It depends how much effort you wish to put in Jakey. If you wish yo replicate the "British Indian Restaurant (BIR) taste and smell", you should invest a little time making up a curry base first (recipes here: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?board=2.0) and then make the madras/vindaloo (recipes here: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?board=3.0)
Also check out this thread to help you find your way around the site: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1848.0
However, if you want a "quick start", maybe try Admin's (i.e. Stew's) recently posted curry base here: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1894.0 and his Madras recipe here: http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1905.0
(BIR) recipes don't come much simpler than these and they have had some rave reviews from some quarters :P This base is undoubtedly best suited to darker, hotter type curries (e.g. Madras/Vindaloo).
Please let us know how you get on or if you need any more help 8)
