Anyone got these?
I have been searching to do Andys curry recipes, but can't find them anywhere.
I tried Asda, then 4 small 'asian' shops and 4 'bangladeshi' shops and finally the 'Indian' cash and carry - but nobody seems to have them. :(

I got some today KP from a local health food shop for a whopping 26 pence !!
I even managed to track down the elusive fresh methi. Spice mix is made and I am ready to go. Just need a free evening to try out the madras.

I did mention this somewhere else, but if you are using Celery seeds it is better to use the wild celery variety. You can grow it in a pot (not the open ground as it grows like a weed) and collect the seeds. The leaves look like French/Italian Parsley and are great for cooking, maybe even for the base. You may find it in the hedgerows (if you live in the country that is) ???.

Hey CP,
The countryside starts 20M from my front door, so I'll have a look!
Hopefully I will be able to grow this as I am looking to move to spain in the near future (hence the need to cook my own curries as there are virtually no Indian restaurants over there - major cities and the tourist coastal areas excepted).
Will be trying one of Andys dishes over the weekend.
Now off to practice fusing.... ??? :D

That would be very useful CP!
I am planning on a large plot of land where I can grow most of my own fruit, veg, herbs and spices.
My dream is to build a wood fired pizza oven and a tandoor. Then I will be close to heaven. Curry nights by the swimming pool on a warm and sultry evening...... I can smell it now!

Now conjouring up wonderful thoughts like that just make me more keen to go. I might just buy a tandoor to take with me.

Yes do get a tandoor before you go, even the commercial ones are difficult to find - even on the mainland (heard about someone who went there to open a restaurant a few years ago) - as for the islands.....well, it has to be flown or shipped in and that means extra cost! :(
Guess it will be the balerics or canary islands for you. Caneries are windy and well 'out there' (bit like the Spanish hebridees (sp?) - but the balerics have a reputation and I am sure curry houses where the demand is!
Anyway, I hope you have done your research and know what youare letting yourself in for! ;) :) :) :)
