Title: Kebab shop uses chilli paste and water, what chilli paste could this be?

Hello all,

One of my local kebab shops said he makes his chilli sauce simply buy buying chilli paste and adding water to it. Any idea what  this chilli paste could be called?

Thanks Phil, it could well be! Have you used this? can you add water too it and it still is nice? Have you known kebab shops use this?

No, I know nothing about it other than the name and the ingredients.  I don't like chilli sauce with my kebabs, preferring to taste the meat, ideally with a little flat-leaf parsley and some pickled green chillies on the side.
