Post by: Roida15 on January 29, 2016, 12:09 PM
Has anyone replaced mixed powder with the bassar masala you can buy from various places?

Not familiar with "bassar nasals", nor do I use a mix powder (so I can't replace it) but I frequently replace the ground chillies in a recipe with Al Noor Bassar Curry Masala when I want a more complex taste ...

Welcome Roida, I have tried but found it a little overpowering, but maybe that was just the brand I used.
Maybe add it to your mix powder instead

Hi!

I looked through Julian's first e book and his mix powder uses this as you suggested. I will try both ways, like to experiment. Which base gravy are you currently using?

Hi,

Made that on Tuesday, good but I am going to try the Zaal one next time. I am going to try the JB one with a new mixed powder first though as mentioned earlier.
