Title: Scottish Chilli Festival, Scone Palace

Together with my good lady wife, I went along to the Scottish Chilli Festival held in the grounds of Scone Palace, Perth last Sunday.

I've only really been to one Chilli Festival before, and that was a few years ago at West Dean Gardens near Chichester. It was really good and we enjoyed it immensely. Sadly, because I was driving a rental car and we had flown down with Ryanair, I could neither partake of the beer tent and Pimms stand, nor could I take anything much back with me because of liquid and luggage restrictions.

So, needless to say, I was really looking forward to this event as the venue is less than an hour's drive for me.

What a disappointment! Chilli Fest patrons were directed to a rear entrance to the palace grounds where they were obliged to park in a field before clambering up a steepish, wet grassy slope before parting with the

Poor showing really, but I think there was also chilli action in Brighton and Birmimgham last weekend.

Didnt you try the King Naga, Queen Naga or King Reaper pickles by Mr Vikkis? The reaper one is their hottest, packs a nice punch.
Their curry pastes come highly recommended too but havent tried any, dont really fancy them tbh.

Aye, I tried all the hot ones. TBH, I can remember the King Naga and perhaps the Reaper at Mr Vikkis (although that might have been on another stall), and I didn't think they were all that hot. There was nothing on display that I would have second thoughts about sticking on my Sunday sausage.
