I'm casting my 10 votes for the 3rd option. :o
-
Obviously Yes
-
Obviously Yes
how predictable. LOL. :D
-
;) ;D
-
And you starting another poll well join the gang :)
Yes, and I voted for the third option, which is the "don't care as I would never use it" option.
I have allowed voters to select up to 3 options from the presented 3 choices, cast 10 votes each and the poll runs for 1 day with results to be published only at the conclusion.
Are you starting to see the point of this poll yet? ;D In truth though I don't actually believe normal members should have the capability of initiating a poll.
Staying on the subject of polls we could ask this question. Why should we pay any more attention to this one or Gav Iscon's deleted poll, than we did to the other ones that have been run of late?
Take for example the poll that George initiated about the use of bad language. The result indicated that the majority of members who bothered to vote did not approve of it's use. Did that stop it from occurring? No.
There was another one, I can't recall at the moment, where the poll question and voting options were so badly presented as to make the results able to be interpreted in any number of ways, which meant that it was absolutely pointless in any event.
Will the deleted poll force George's decision one way or the other? I can't say.
Will my poll here, affect the layout of the forum and members' ability to create pointless polls? Probably not.
-
It's a bit irrelevant isn't it Livo? After all, whether as a poll or not, I could equally start a thread outlining a question in the first post and asking others to post follow up responses saying whether they agree or disagree. That the forum software allows this to be somewhat automated so the results are displayed at the top of the thread doesn't really change anything, so I'm struggling to see why you have such an objection to members having access to the poll feature.
-
Exactly because of the reason you point out so clearly. They are irrelevant. Well done on stating the bleeding obvious. This is the purpose of the thread. Well done for catching on so quickly.
-
Definately Not.
Obviously Yes.
Don't care as I would never do it anyway.
The poll is poorly phrased (the questions not have contained implicit value-judgements such as "Obviously", and should have been expressed neutrally as "No", "Yes", "Unsure" and "Not relevant to me as I would never use the feature") but I answered "Yes", not because of the current situation but because such polls have proved useful on this forum in the past.

I'm glad you detected that Phil, otherwise my efforts to deliberately make the instrument as faulty as possible would have been wasted. You are nearly as easy as Sverige to hook in.

If your sole aim in posting is to "hook people in", as you put it, then I would respectfully suggest that you take your activities elsewhere; this is a forum for serious discussion, in which I mistakenly believed you to be participating, not one on which trolling is encouraged. Please note that I have used the "Report to moderator" feature as, in my opinion, your closing sentence constitutes a personal attack on two forum members.

Phil, do you really believe that anything written in these absurd threads over the last several months has be anything other that trivial rubbish? I gave you credit as having more sense, and I thought you of all members would have been able to read the direction, intent and deliberate faults in this post. How disappointing it is to have to point out that it was a deliberate and intended attempt to reveal to you all how pointless and ridiculous this petty squabble has become.
I'm out. Gone. you guys are a bunch of (moderated). moderate that George. (George doesn't need to, because I did :) )

Echoes of Cory Ander in that parting shot...

Except not for very long. He's back already :D :P ::)

Echoes of Cory Ander in that parting shot...
Ah. You've got me at last. I am actually Cory Ander and I've been lurking here for 18 months waiting for the time to come. aha, got you now. How ridiculous that you guys are still equating everything to something that happened years ago. Even people who weren't here when it all went down are on the band wagon.
Sorry no, as I had to explain when I was accused of being CA when I first joined up I'm not related to, acquainted with or even within thousands of Km's of CA. I wouldn't know him from a bar of soap but I'm starting to think he might have had the right idea in bailing out.
The guests must be laughing in the aisles.
modified to correct keyboard malfunction for phil.

The guests must be laughing in the isles.
Presumably the Isles of Scilly.

Echoes of Cory Ander in that parting shot...
It probably comes from sh@gg1ng sheep all day, Naga (including rams, Garp : nothing non-PC here). Destroys a man's mind, or so I am told ...

Show's how much you don't know Phil because that would be in reference to New Zealanders and not Australians. There are very few sheep left in Australia but there are more sheep than people on the islands on the other side of the Tasman Sea.
And once again a suggestion that anybody who disagrees with you is gay. What is it with you private school boys? Does your bottom still hurt?
-
There are very few sheep left in Australia but there are more sheep than people on the islands on the other side of the Tasman Sea.
And even fewer Tasmanians left in Tasmania, because of the genocide conducted by your fellow countrymen a century or so ago ...
** Phil.
-
Myxomatosis maybe :D

Over 2 centuries ago and they were of your own stock phil.

Myxo is still around but it is Khaleesi virus we have now to try to eradicate the vermin your intelligent forbears saw fit to bring with them.
-
Over 2 centuries ago and they were of your own stock phil.
About 170 years, by my reckoning, and I wish I were of the same stock as the indigenous Tasmanians; far better to be related genetically to them than to the nation that exterminated them.
** Phil.
-
200 years ago, they were... villains :)

Why don't you try anthrax ? And this time, keep it in your own God-damned country and don't export it to a civilised world that loves animals.

Then you'd be wrong. 1770 was Captain James Cook and 1788 was the First Fleet under Governor Arthur Phillip.
Why did the British have to return all the skulls of the indigenous Tasmanians from the museums?
-
Guys, at this particular time when there's a clear groundswell of opinion to support George being dispossessed of his moderator powers, please don't allow yourselves to be diverted by one visitor from elsewhere, who has already shown his hand. Why not use the time to send a PM to admin calling for George's removal because it's clear a lot of what gets posted doesn't get noticed by admin, but a PM inbox of complaints will surely be noticed?
As for Livo, his motives for supporting George have become plain enough.

The Tasmanian genocide (fl. 1826-1829) is where white British settlers wiped out nearly all the native people of Tasmania (then called Van Diemen

And what would my motives be Sverige?
-
But Sverige I thought you were CA, now it turns out Livi is CA. I don't know what to believe anymore ;D
-
I'm CA and so's my wife.
-
Read your own reference Phil.
"white British settlers"
-
I'm CA and so's my wife.
Good man; got to keep Garp on-side :)
-
We need to get back to business everyone; that is, exposing Geo.
-
Read your own reference Phil. "white British settlers"
And you thought until now that today's Australians were just the result of spontaneous creation ? Well I'm d@mned -- I thought the last believer in spontaneous creation died a couple of hundred years ago.
-
We need to get back to business everyone; that is, exposing Geo.
No, we're too busy exposing ourselves by continuing to rise to Livo's troll-bait :(

True words

No I'm CA
Phil let him go
Down boy Down
-
Anyway... was Spartacus really CA?! ;)
-
When I mentioned, "Echoes of Cory Ander in that parting shot...", I meant exactly that. Any inference taken from the statement is the author's alone.
Nor did I intend to kick off a slagging session. We've had enough of that and the question of "George the Moderator" has not yet been resolved. Can we stick to one problem at a time?
-
Not really good for the site we all know that :)
But fantastic for the ratings ;D
I was so involved last night , I forgot the master's was on
Or was that the Gin
-
Please leave LC's thread unpolluted, chaps.
** Phil.
Well if that aint the pot calling the kettle black.
And you have the audacity to call me a troll.
Look up these words phil.
Pretentious
Pompous
Punce.
Nearly forgot,
Pratt.
You know where the Report to Moderator button is, but I doubt you'll get much sympathy there old chum.
-
Isn't it dark yet where you are, Livo ? Why don't you go to bed, put on the boxing gloves so as to avoid any risk of "spontaneous" nocturnal emissions, and return to the fray tomorrow ?
-
You know where the Report to Moderator button is, but I doubt you'll get much sympathy there old chum.
No need, old boy; you can list all the naughty words that you can think of, but unless you actually state that a member is one of those, there is nothing worth reporting.
-
Iivo
Go to bed son
-
I'm waiting for Thor to tell me what my motives are.
-
Flipping hell Livo, you'll probably be getting a personal invite from Kenny soon for the other place..... :-\
-
Who or what is Kenny?
-
Iivo
Go to bed son
I will be going to bed soon enough. It is near 10 pm here but I am fascinated by this massive internal (moderated at OP's request). Some of these boys have obviously been very badly affected by moderators past and present and I'm just trying to help them expunge themselves of inner turmoils. Acceptance is the first hurdle you know.
-
As for Livo, his motives for supporting George have become plain enough.
Well, since you know more about me than I do, please share.
-
Iivo
I love you

Iivo
I love you
Do you wear wool? I'm sure I could grow quite fond of you too, given time.

Rolf livo ;D
-
Good man; got to keep Garp on-side :)
Didn't realise I'd strayed offside.......I was looking along the line too.......should have spotted it.
My bad.
-
Rolf livo ;D
Is that as in 'Rolf' Harris ? :( or should it read ROFL :-*
-
Spank me kangaroo now sport. :)
-
Now there's a role model for livo :D

We have lots of Polls in my job , the majority of which work well.
They can be annoying though if not used for the right purposes.
-
We have lots of Polls in my job too - and Bulgarians , and Latvians - mainly because the Brits are too idle to do any manual graft these days
-
Now there's a role model for livo :D
Do you have to work hard at your attributes, or are they a natural? Must be hard walking around with that weight on ones shoulders, particularly when aroused.
Notice my new avatar? I borrowed it and it's a bit small, but it says, Bad Taste. Can't make good gravy with bad onions.

In line with the above, voting has now closed and thread is locked :-X
For those of you who believe my action to be heavy handed (or any other term that is used to describe an unpopular action by a moderator), or that the topic is of great value to the forum and members should be able to continue to post in it, PM me your reasons. If I receive an overwhelming number of requests from contributors, I may reconsider my decision ;)
