The lads and I had a short tour last week and sampled a few curries.
We're all 35-40+ and like a good curry and are all from Yorkshire (to give the regional tastebud boffs a medium).
Northampton - can't remember the name of the place, but utter rubbish.
Bradford - Kashmir - downstairs part..nice basic and good stuff. Free poppadoms and dip, 6 people fed and mango lassi-ed for 38 quid...very very good food. Meals tried - madras, achiri, korma, dupiaza, Kashmiri.
Gateshead - Paprika - was worried initially as empty. Food absolutely amazing apart from samosa starter slightly undercooked. Best curry of the tour. Meals tried - dupiaza, Jal Jul Hash, madras, Kashmiri.

Not too sure about the punk rock part, lol, but the curry tour sounds great! Good feedback on the restaurant quality too. :)

Been to the Kashmir a few times and enjoyed it but the last time I went a was disappointed. I bought a couple home and the missus wasn't impressed. The basic-ness of it is great and it was most likely an off day Just goes to show.
I'll have to try Paprika as I've always over looked it and usually used to use the Last days of the Raj take-away a bit further down the road. Had good reports on The Raval at the Tyne Bridge although its upmarket and pricey.

Have you ever played at the Adam and Eve pub in Digbeth Birmingham, i am sure i have seen you before,
also see that you are playing with Vice Squad and the legendary Angelic Upstarts, also seen Calabrese a few times too.

I'd just like to ask, Deadbeat, which one of the battle-hardened, anarchistic, street-fighting, aging punk rockers ordered the korma!!!! Come on - name and shame :)
-
Cool, can't remember if I've ever managed to catch you playing DB.
Yep, the A&E has closed, all of Woddy's Punks Alive gigs are at the Actress and Bishop in Brum now.
-
No it's still going strong.
I watched GBH there and also about 4 or 5 bands upstairs sure you lot was on the bill upstairs, last year sometime lol.
-
I'm pretty sure it closed last month and Wardy moved ops to the Actress and Bishop as said.
We haven't played there for a few years.
Korma, lol. Well, it was our rhythm guitarist who in his defence used to eat much hotter food until he was stabbed a few years ago and got pancreas damage.
-
Lol DB - I hope that's true cos it's a brilliant story.
Respect to the rhythm guitarist :)
-
Sadly true, yes. Should have seen his face while I was tucking into my dupiaza. He kept mouthing obscenities while he struggled with his korma. Good lad, but nearly died from his injuries a few years ago. All because he wouldn't give someone outside a kebab shop a cigarette, kitchen knife 3 times in the back.
-
Always said kebabs were bad for you.
Sorry! That's a tragic story though :(
