Hi everyone :)
I'm an American expat living with my English husband in Denmark of all places! Danish food is a bit dire for our tastes. We went for an Indian here and they actually microwaved the pakoras... blech! That was after charging us 4 GBP for a pitcher of tap water. Never again.
I've always liked Indian food, but my interest has been kicked into high gear with our many trips to London and the takeaways we have there. We even had Indian takeaway delivered to our hotel for our (Gibraltar) wedding dinner. There's nothing even close in Denmark.
I was so happy to find this forum and to discover how helpful everyone has been. You guys rock for sharing all of this information, thank you.

Welcome to the forum - all your BIR needs are contained somewhere on this forum - you'll get lots of help from members too but as a start you might want to read up on a base gravy, which usually has a spice mix and recipes to go with it for the sake of matching them all together.
Good luck!

Thanks : -)
I jumped right in last weekend making Taz's base and mix to do a Jalfrezi and Biriyani and I was blown away by the result! Obviously there's room for improvement and I'll need to hunt for proper ingredients, but I knew at first bite I was on to something. I'm counting the minutes to the end of the workday so I can go home and play some more.
