Of all the members on here has, anyone ever got IT!
Why i ask, is i have spent the last week reading this site and not seen it!
-
Welcome back Chris! ;)
-
Have you got it
chris sue?
-
In my opinion, the smell's always there, its just that because we are cooking in it we don't smell it but when the missus comes in from outside, she says its there. Making a few curries the other week, I left the mess for a few hours and when I cam back to clear up it the smell everyone goes on about was there.
As for the taste, we are all striving to produce curries better than our locals but to me everyone's taste/local is different so I can't see everyone agreeing that we've hit the jackpot on the mystery ingredient, for example the Scottish people seem to like the Glasgow curries better than ours as they are more akin to what they normally get.
As long as you're happy with your curries and are having fun cooking them, that's what i think is important.
In my opinion of course. :)

Hi sue
Seen what ? smell? taste?
-
Why are you saying i am called Chris please?
Because the members of CR0 (all of whom I love dearly) are actually a bunch of conspiracy theorists, and as soon as any new members declares his/her admiration for H4ppy Chris, they immediately suspect that the new member actually /is/ Chris pretending to be a fan in order to increase his kudos. Now whether or not Chris /does/ actually post under one or more pseudonyms is another matter entirely ...

Classic!!! :D
Getting to the heart of the matter... One Piece at a Time! ;)

Sue, coupled with what Phil said, Chris used to be on this forum till he got banned and the question you asked at the beginning of the thread is in the same style that Chris would post hence a the postings from the conspiracists. I'm sure you'll find everything you want for bir on this forum. Have a look at Loup's postings as she's a fairly new member.
-
And what's more she actually cooks stuff!

Remarkedly little has happened here in terms of banning anyone. H4C was banned for reasons made clear by Admin. Other than spam merchants, it's very rare that anyone is banned from this site.
Personally, I'd favour the rehabilitation of H4C to this forum if he's interested and refrains from starting any more wind-up type threads. After all, it seems unlikely he'd commit the same offence again because the other forum will probably have disappeared before too much longer. I can't see CA paying the hosting fees if he's almost the only active member, left talking to himself.

That might stop him
arguing or he might ban himself ;D ;D ;D

I'm big fan of h4ppy-chris and would love to see him back.
Why - he loves the food and cooks it.
Smell and taste - a real good - probably pinnacle question.
For me for BIR it's better to take a bottom up approach. I don't think a bottom down approach would work.
You would need to ask what produces the smell and taste - the jigsaw is very flat ie many factors apply.
In case it help for me personally it's yes yes.
The trouble is when get both you. Realise there is still more to learn/improve.
The Best BIR are there but getting there ourselves is a good way off.
To help the journey I posted in beginners section the pieces of the jigsaw. We collectively probably need to revisit each piece and set down what each means and needs. As said earlier we each have different ideas on what constitutes smell and taste which is quite amazing really despite huge variance across BIR land.
The icing on the cake is that we are in the right place and better together.
