Lahori fish (cod)

Packet spice mix/recipe. Deep fried. Rather nice. A bit too salty. Think next time I'll add some fresh garlic/ginger, a bit of yoghurt, freshly cracked black pepper, and cook under a grill.

Trad, on-the-bone, from scratch. Now this was a seriously good curry!

It's not often we see fish on the forum Bob - much underrated in my opinion and something I should cook more often. Pictures look really tasty, thanks for sharing!

The Karahi looks a lot better than the one I made the other week. Which recipe was that one Rob?
-
It's from this vid gav:

The ingredients/quantities are given in English. Followed to spec with 1 kg chicken (I did chuck in a couple of green cardos :)). Very simple recipe. Like how chef makes the curry in the oil/stock after browning/sealing the chicken. 1 tbsp black pepper, julienne ginger, fresh green chilli and chopped coriander added right at the end. One of the best trad dishes I've made. At the end of the vid chef gets some ready-made kebabs out of the freezer, for a starter. My style of cooking! Nice tip for the paratha/kebab wrap presentation too, using paper, and then sliced.

Yep, anything with the word boob in has to be good. That's next on my traditional curry list. ;)

Great find Bob
just had a quick look at the vid and does look different and a must try
especially after last weeks staff curry I made from Adey recipe

Not a fish lover, but that looks nice, Rob.

Do you like chicken Garp
-
Na, it's acky. Why do you ask, Michael?

Will be revisiting this dish next week. Chicken nibblets again. Should add that for the quantities watch the chef, e.g, 1 tbsp garlic paste and 1 tbsp ginger paste, as opposed to the annotated "1 tbsp garlic & ginger paste".

Looking great Bob. Coincidence or not, last night made a Cod Tikka Pakora and while I am not even a big fan of fish, it scored very high among the best food I've ever produced at home. Given the simplicity, it's likely to become a staple of the house.
