Title: Chicken tikka vs Handi chicken nibblets
Post by: Kashmiri Bob on March 02, 2014, 04:35 PM
Busy night's prep in the kitchen last night.  Had a rummage around in the freezer for dinner.

Chicken tikka

Now then.  Before anyone says they look burned, can I point out they are not  8). They are just perfect.  I like tandoori food done like this.  Just a couple of tester chunks. 6 hr marinade instead of the full 48.  Been doing quite a bit of tikka lately.  Beef, lamb, chicken.  Cut down some full size (square profile) tandoor skewers, so they fit on a tray about an inch under the rotating micro grill.  Been getting some spectacular results.  Also tried mutton tikka, but it didn't work out.  Came out tasting like grilled liver  >:(.

Aloo mushroom

Another leftover. Pre-cooked new potatoes.  No like.  Back to good (old) red spuds.

Handi chicken nibs

Dinner. Quick and easy packet spice/recipe. Still a quality curry.  Man cannot live on BIR alone.  :)

Pre-cooked beef (shin)

Can't go wrong making a curry with this pre-cook.

All good fun!

Thank goodness you're back, Rob :)

That tikka looks amazing....especially to Mrs Garp, who likes it well done.

First class, as always

You've been busy by the looks of things Rob! I too like my tikka and tandoori to have some charred bits so that tikka is perfect for me.

Still looks better than the 'no clue' Tandoori Powder Chicken posted the other day. ::)

Your Beef Shin looks Yum  :P even before it hits a curry

Did you ever get into the Adil kitchens to check out their Balti?

I don't know.  Burnt chicken tikka, burnt tandoori lamb chops, too much oil in my curries....

I think I'll order a TA!

Tikka looks amazing and succulent...for me maybe just a bit overdone..but honestly the best i've seen on here by far...looks different from the red tikka you normally get...think i prefer it that way..ottis

Have you wrote your precook recipe down yet. That shin beef certainly looks lush.
