Post by: jamieb728 on February 21, 2014, 07:19 AM
Hi
Has anyone made mango kulfi at home without an ice cream maker if so do you have a recipe i have looked at a few online seems quite straight forward the only question i have is a lot of them say to use heavy cream im guessing this would be double cream?
Any advise would be appreciated

For "heavy cream", try Waitrose extra-thick Jersey cream.  Never made mango kulfi, though.

Hi, my wife makes a great almond kulfi. Recipe is in my favourite recipes book. It basically uses condensed milk, very nice - much better than the standqrd 'daleks' you seem to get in restaurants these days. I am sure you could replace the almond with maybe finely chopped mango, maybe a little juice. You would have to have a guess at mango quantity. Its at the end of the doc.
