Just joined and beginning my quest to recreate curry as good as our local restaurant / takeaway.
I had the "Curry Secret" book for a couple of years but never tried it. Now see t'internet is awash with various "secret" recipes and ways to boil a bag of onions :)
Tried the Curry Secret sauce last weekend, and while it was nice, it was still lacking that secret magic.
Now ordered some fresh curry leaves and some ghee and will have another go with some of the ideas I've seen here

speedyp there are some forum members who use the KD base from the Curry Secret books so you may get some direct advice from them. Alternatively there are members on this forum who have base, mix powder and dish recipes that complement. Examples would be Coryander (CA), Chewytikka (CT), Bruce Edwards who has done a lot of recipes based around a couple of extensive magazine articles and posts on this site. More recently there are others like h4ppychris, CT and bigboaby who have posted videos and that really gives you a chance to see their technique.
Good luck and enjoy the forum!

Welcome speedyp. You've just begun the long journey on cracking the art to BIR. But rest assured you're in the right place and you'll find plenty of help at hand as well as loads of background reading and recipes too ;)
