How did you try to cook them, Les ?

In a heavy frying pan, Phil. They blistered but never puffed up.

If you have gas, Les, I would try over an open flame using a very coarse mesh wire sieve. An open flame make the bubbling of chapati very much simpler; if you do not have gas, then press the edges of the chapati down using a dampened pad of kitchen paper; this will force steam into the centre of the chapati and cause it to bubble up.

Cheers Phil, I do have Gas, and will give your way a try, The recipe seems so blooming simple that I didn't think that It could go wrong, Oh well we live and learn ;D

To be honest, making a good Chicken Madras is a darn sight easier than making perfect chapati or perfect pulao rice ! Incidentally, this is the sort of coarse-grid sieve I had in mind, although those I see in the warehouses are usually gold in colour and round in shape.
