Title: Hi All !
Post by: mixedcream on November 03, 2013, 02:02 PM
Hi,

I joined the forum recently. The gf was away on holiday and I planned to have a proper stab at a BIR style curry. Was amazed to stumble across this brilliant resource.

Typically I order Chicken Dopiaza from the local TA so that was the aim. I was fairly proud of my first effort too. Ingredients like mace and fenugreek that I had never used before instantly smelt like winners and the end result was a decent replica.

Cooking with electric causes some pain (temperature control is very difficult) but hey ho.

Anyway thanks to all that contribute. This forum is a great read.

Below is the Kushi Chicken Dopiaza I made. Plain, boiled rice and a shop-bought garlic and coriander naan for ease. Currently have some of Blade's Chicken Tikka marinating in the fridge. Yummy.

Welcome to the forum, for a first effort that looks amazing, well done.

Can't wait to see some more pics.

All the best

Thanks both, I like cooking and I'm one of those "not too keen on strict recipe" types. So hopefully I'll get to a stage where I can experiment a bit and add some stuff myself. For now, I'm happy to learn.

And don't I know it  >:( Takes a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it you can still turn out damn fine curries.  Welcom aboard  :D
