Title: My first curry from this forum
Post by: Rob-phall-ike on October 10, 2013, 11:59 AM
At last. As I have said in an earlier post, I have been making curries for years but they have always lacked that "take away" something. Well, after reading through loads of posts and curry base recommendations I have finally produced a scorching hot curry that meets all of my desires. It has the right consistency, texture and flavour. Plus it is extremely hot.

Thanks to all you guys that have pointed me in the right direction and you can be sure I will be making lots more of them, especially to take to work (I work nights so no-one to upset). Here is a photo from that first successful effort.

Great looking curry. What recipes did you use out of curiosity?

Great looking curry. What recipes did you use out of curiosity?
I used the Glasgow curry base as the starting point, then a recipe from this site (can't remember without going back to check) which was to heat the oil, add the garlic and ginger paste then a load of hot chilli powder and cook that into a paste. Then I added some more chopped onion, garlic, finger chillies, meat (goat), some mushrooms 'cause I like them and cooked this with a mix of usual spices. Slowly added the base curry and dried methi leaves. Cooked the meat until it was tender, needed to add some water to stop it going dry, and Bob's your uncle. Delicious.

I love this approach :  no recipe, no quantities, no times -- very definitely a man after my own heart.  Well done, Rob !

That looks like a cracker, mate.

A little hot for me: I actually burned my finger when I touched the picture on my phone.

What you gonna try next?

Looks lovely.  "Load of hot chilli powder"  That's the way to do it.
