welcome iceman, you should invest in a cheap Aluminium pan, much better for making BIR as they heat up much quicker

Hi Gary yeah i got a big aluminium one i use also but it is 11" its a bit big lol.

just Needed a spare pan when i making more curry's for the family and saw a bargain thought be ideal for knocking up some quick curry's.

Oh well ill give it go later and give a report  :)

If it doesnt work out, you can always take an electric drill to it with a wire brush attachment and turn it into an ali wok.  ;)
(most of the cheap non stick pans are coated aluminium)

Lol it is aluminium not coated that's why I brought it said on the bottom of the pan also  :)

It must be the photo then because it looks like a teflon coating to me.
Surprised to see a bare ali wok being sold in a major supermarket though. Good buy if thats the case.  ;)

Just came across this on the Tesco website. Also on Amazon and Ebay for roughly the same price.
Not aluminium (Black iron) and a bit expensive but a great shape.  :)

p.s. Looks like the same shape as the one in H4ppyChris' first video of the takeaway he posted when everyone got exited and wanted a deep pan, and it turned out to be a normal sized pan with the wrong video compression.  ;D

Hey Icemanfrosty

I break all the rules and cook on an induction hob in a cast iron wok and still manage to get excellent results. You just have to fine tune your technique slightly, and it may take another minute or two longer -  thats all
