Title: H4ppyChris and day Zero.
Post by: prawnsalad on August 28, 2013, 12:40 AM
Just a suggestion as the forthcoming ebook by H4ppyChris promises to be one of, if not the most significant tools in creating Base Gravy since most people can remember (judging by the comments and Chris's description of his "Magic" currently secret method.)

Would it be possible to put up a progress bar on the main page?

This way Chris or whoever could update it maybe twice weekly so everyone could see just how close hes getting to the finish line giving a realistic forecast as to the actual completion date.

This would hopefully do away with the feelings of desperation, disbelief and open-endedness without biting into Chris's time schedule.

If Chris is willing of course.

Why is everyone so excited about this book? Is chris a takeaway chef? Is this a free ebook?

What leads you to believe that everyone is excited about this book, BMB ?  From my reading of the forum, some are excited and impatient, some are ambivalent, some are sceptical and some are simply content to wait for it to appear and then judge it on its merits.  And some, of course, have no interest at all.

To answer your more specific questions :  (a), no Chris is not; he is working with Sam, who is; and (b) no, it will not be free, but a price has not yet been announced.

I personally think he will release his E Book - as to what the content is like that will have to remain to be seen!

What i will say is the videos he has started putting up with the 2 camera style inlay is superb - far better than anything currently on the net - youtube - so hats off to him for that.

Well done

best, Rich

... precisely, although I think Chris is far more thick skinned to throw the towel in. The only bet that should be made on any mortgages is that the doubters will still be the same doubters after the book is released. These keyboard warriors give nothing to this forum; Chris will and has with some excellent videos.

Cheers,
Ken

It seems a bit wierd to charge for the book, i think it kind of goes against the spirit of things around here. I mean CA, Taz etc could have charged as they have some of the most cooked recipes but did not.

A built in Contribution system here would be amazing, say everytime you cook from someones recipe or feel they significantly influenced your curry that meal you donate say 10 / 20p. Probably make more money in long run for merited work as ebooks will get pirated after 5 minutes anyway.
